Lakeshore Road Burlington

This Lending Box is built and maintained by Burlington Holy Cross Lutheran Church. It was built near a bench and trees along the multi-use path on Lakeshore Road. Located on Lakeshore between Lakeview Ave. and Walkers Line, at 3455 Lakeshore Rd. This Lending Box is also along the Waterfront Trail.

Although I drove here during the winter, I plan to park our car at Paletta Lakefront Park then walk to this Lending Box with my walking buddy after warm weather returns.

From Holy Cross:
Little Lending Library
Easily accessible from the running path that marks the south end of our property, Holy Cross hosts a Little Lending Library. Feel free to drop by and borrow a book. You can return it when you're done, or return it to one of the other Little Lending Libraries. If you have a book, you'd like to share then please add it to the collection.

UPDATE During COVID-19 The Church added a Little Free Pantry
From the church:
When we had to close the doors of the building, our pastor (Colin Cameron) wondered how we continue to meet the needs of the community. He remembered a twitter post from a person he knows through soccer, who has one of these types of boxes installed outside his home in Connecticut.

He asked members of the congregation who operate the Birdhouse Foundation (they raise funds for the hospital by selling decorative and functional birdhouses) to build "a big birdhouse" for the food we'd often keep inside. Other members of the congregation have stepped up their donations of food, and someone checks it every other day to make sure items are replenished as needed. The BirdHouse Foundation

Our building may be closed, but our care for the community never closes.

While this was seen as a temporary measure to begin with, we will be keeping it running even if we are able to reopen the doors of the building. It has been used beyond our imagination, and we are blessed to be able to meet the needs of people this way.
